In the Asia & Pacific region, Paramount Plus is so far only available in Australia. The price for Paramount Plus in Australia is $9.99 per month or $89.99 per year.
This price is higher than in the U.S. and comparable to prices in Europe. This may be due to the difference in content. The point is that content that is available in the US may not be available in Australia and vice versa. For this reason, prices may differ.
Can you watch Paramount Plus in the unavailable country?
If you are in a country where Paramount Plus is not yet available, you will get an error like the picture below instead of the streaming service.
However, you can still access Paramount Plus from anywhere on Earth. To do this, you can use a VPN connection. Its essence is that your signal is redirected to a remote server, and you are “virtually in another place.” In this way, you can set up a VPN to be in the US and get access to Paramount Plus.
I recommend using a paid VPN, as free VPN services can steal your data and are not always effective at hiding your location. For example, the free VPN built into the Opera browser could not open Paramount Plus. The system detected my position and banned me from streaming. Good paid VPNs are NordVPN, ExpressVPN and SurfShark.
Does using a VPN violate Paramount’s terms of use?
Using a VPN to access Paramount+ content can potentially violate their terms of use if it involves certain circumstances. While Paramount+ does not explicitly forbid the use of VPNs, issues arise when the VPN is used to bypass geographical restrictions or access content from a region where the service is not officially available.
Paramount+ and other streaming platforms often have content distribution agreements that are tied to specific regions. If you’re using a VPN to appear as if you’re accessing their content from a different country than the one associated with your account, you might be infringing upon these agreements. This practice could breach their terms of use, as you’re effectively circumventing their intended content licensing and distribution.
Where else can I watch Paramount Plus content?
If you want to watch a particular movie or series, you can google it and see if it is available on other streaming services. In addition, if you look closely at the Paramount Plus error page in the wrong region, you will notice that there is the following message or something like that:
