What is the design difference between QN85A and QN85B Samsung TV models?

Samsung QN85A and QN85B look like all modern televisions and nothing more. These models are in line with the general trend because the difference between them is only one year.

The stand is the first thing that catches your eye when you see these two Samsung Neo QLED TV models in front of you. A stand in today’s use of TVs is very conventional, as many people mount their TVs on the wall.

The TV has a thin frame around the screen’s perimeter (0.4 inches). By design, the TV should look good in any room. Samsung QN85A, QN85B has a slim profile. The maximum thickness is 1 inch. The back panel is plastic with a textured matte metal finish. There are grooves along the back panel and a hole in the stand for routing cables.

The main difference in design between the QN85B and the QN85A is the foot’s shape and the stand. The foot is more comprehensive, and the stand has a hexagonal shape and a larger base area.

What is the difference in picture quality between Samsung QN85A and QN85B TV models?

The Samsung QN85A Neo QLED has a good color gamut.
The color range is good, but the screen is worse at rendering dark saturated colors because of the lower contrast ratio. This is a feature of IPS panels with higher brightness but slightly worse contrast.

At first glance, the QN85B looks like another typical VA panel from Samsung. The specification specifies extra wide viewing angles; almost no one looks at this anymore because everyone understands that watching TV at an angle of more than 40 degrees is uncomfortable.

The brightness control algorithm leads to a more accurate result thanks to the mini LED backlight with multiple adjustment zones. Moreover, the perceived contrast becomes even higher in gaming or dynamic picture modes. The spread of backlighting around bright objects on a dark background is almost invisible and increases slightly at an angle.

The Samsung QN85B also shows perfect colors as a quantum dot TV. But you should know that Samsung sold its QLED display factory in 2022. Samsung is focusing on developing larger OLED displays.

Regarding technical improvements, the installation of a new Bluetooth 5.2 module and a new version of the remote control TM2280E.

What is the difference in sound between the Samsung QN85A and QN85B TV models?

There are no differences in the basic sound, both TV models are equipped with a 2.2.2 sound system with a total power of 60 watts, which is quite a lot. The Q Symphony surround sound system is also supported. But it will only work with a Samsung soundbar that supports this technology. Using the soundbar and TV speakers will create high-quality sound, like in a cinema, but it also requires the appropriate room for properly distributing sound waves.

What is the price difference between QN85A and QN85B Samsung TV models?

In May 2022, the Samsung QN85B 55′ TV set cost 1599 USD.

The price is, of course, overpriced; you can see the current price in the Amazon store; at the beginning of 2023, the price of the TV was reduced to $1300. Such fluctuations are a natural process in anticipation of the 2023 TV release.
