If you’re one of those people who uses streaming services all the time, you probably know that one of the best things about them is the complete control of the viewing experience. You no longer have to flip through your cable or satellite channels hoping to find at least the last 30 minutes of a movie.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, and others have opened up a wide range of viewing options, but unfortunately, there is one basic element of cable TV that has persisted into the streaming era. That element is advertising.

When it comes to a streaming service like Netflix, it’s safe to say that it remains committed to the “no ads, no problem” principle. Hulu, on the other hand, relies on advertising as a way to lower prices for customers. If you’re willing to spend a little more money, there’s a quick way to get rid of ads on Hulu, and it only requires a few extra clicks. So, here is how to skip and completely get rid of ads on Hulu in different ways.

What is Hulu

For many users in the U.S., Hulu is a popular site for streaming their favorite movies and TV shows. By purchasing a monthly subscription, you get access to blockbuster movies, popular TV sitcoms, kids’ shows, and lots of other great content.

The Hulu video service was launched in 2007 and today has a base of 3 million subscribers. Hulu has an impressive legal library of movies, TV shows, documentaries, clips, and animation available on a monthly subscription basis. Hulu, like Netflix, does not allow you to download movies to your computer or cell phone. Through Xbox and PS gaming consoles, the service can also be used. Each user gets a week of free use of Hulu upon registration.

How to skip ads on Hulu using Premium subscription

Hulu uses ads to provide users with affordable pricing. Unlike Netflix, which doesn’t rely as much on ads. If you want to really enjoy Hulu, you’ll have to pay more for an ad-free plan. A regular Hulu plan costs $5.99 a month. With this plan, your movies and other videos will be interrupted by ads. If you want to get rid of ads, you can sign up for the Hulu No Ads plan for $11.99. The No Ads plan is aptly named because it excludes most advertisements.

Hulu also has a Hulu + Live TV plan, which allows you to watch live programming on more than 60 channels. With this plan, you can watch sports, local news, and everything that’s offered on the regular Hulu plan for $5.99. Hulu + Live TV costs $54.99 per month, and Hulu ad-free + Live TV costs $69.99 per month. So by paying $6 extra, you get to watch a lot of content completely ad-free.

How to skip ads on Hulu using Ad block

If you access Hulu on your computer, you can use a Chrome extension that blocks ads. This method doesn’t actually completely eliminate ads because Hulu uses a back-end script for its ads. A good ad-blocking extension will work until Hulu stops detecting it.

It should be noted that ad-blocking extensions don’t completely block all ads, sometimes they just mask ads so they don’t show. Also, some videos will not play when the ad blocker is on. A good extension to use is Adblock Plus.

If you usually watch Hulu using mobile devices, you can download a mobile-oriented adblocker. This method is usually effective in blocking most ads.

How to skip ads on Hulu using two tabs in browser

First of all, if you want to use this method, you should know that you will need a fast and unlimited Internet connection.

Open Hulu in your browser and find the movie or show you want to watch. After that, start a movie or a show in two tabs in your browser. Mute one of the tabs and fast-forward to the first ad. Watch the movie in the other tab until you reach the first ad.

When you reach the first ad, mute that tab, go to another tab, rewind the opening ad, then mute and continue watching the movie. You can repeat this process until you finish watching the show or movie.
