Modern Samsung TVs contain many features that make watching content more accessible and enjoyable. This list includes downloading apps, such as streaming services, to watch your favorite movies and shows on the big screen. However, things don’t always go as smoothly as you’d like.
Some Samsung TV users report that they cannot find the ABC app. This is a pretty rare and strange bug. For this reason, there is no unique solution to it. However, you can use general methods that may help you solve this problem if you have already encountered it.
Moreover, you should know that the ABC app is only compatible with Samsung Smart TVs running Tizen. So if you have an older model with a different OS, you won’t be able to install the ABC app.
Here’s what you can do to find the ABC app on your Samsung TV again.
Soft reset your Samsung TV
The idea behind a soft reset is that it completely shuts down the TV and reboots it, rather than just putting it into standby mode. There are two ways to do this.
- You can press and hold the Power button on the remote control until your Samsung TV turns off and on again. This should take about 5 seconds.
- And you can unplug the TV for 30 seconds and then plug it back in.
The advantage of this method is that it solves many problems, such as freezes, glitches, crashes, and apps not loading. You can also solve many other problems with images and menus.
Update your Samsung TV
In most cases, updating the OS on your Samsung TV can help you fix a problem with the ABC app when you can’t find it. It also helps to eliminate other bugs and glitches. So follow these steps:
- Press the Home button and go to Settings.
- Then navigate to the Support section and select Software Update.
- Finally, select Update Now.
You can also set up the automatic update function. In this case, you don’t have to constantly check that the OS version of your Samsung TV is up to date. If you can’t fix the problem with the ABC app after updating, move on to the following solution.
Reset Smart Hub
Before you start fixing, you should know that when you reset Smart Hub, you log out of all the apps you use on your Samsung TV, not just the app you want to fix. So make sure you have current login information for all your accounts before resetting and do the following.
Models after 2020:
- Open the Settings menu and go to Support.
- Then select Service Care and navigate to Self Diagnosis.
- Finally, click Reset Smart Hub.
Models before 2020:
- Open the Settings menu and go to Support.
- After that, select Self Diagnosis.
- Finally, click Reset Smart Hub.
Once you have completed these steps, you will need your PIN code. The default one is 0000. After Smart Hub reset, try downloading and installing the ABC app again.
Reinstall the ABC app on your Samsung TV
Reinstalling the app deletes old and useless data causing problems. They, in turn, are replaced with fresh ones. After you reinstall the ABC app, it should appear on the Home screen of your Samsung TV. So follow these instructions:
- Press the Home button on your Samsung remote control and go to Apps.
- After that, click on the gear icon at the top right corner to open Settings.
- Next, head to the ABC app and select Delete.
- If Delete is grayed out, this is a recommended app. Select Reinstall instead.
- Then press the Return button on your remote control and select Search.
- Finally, enter ABC and install it.
Now, everything should work fine. If not, it’s recommended to contact Samsung Support. Maybe they will find a solution for your unique case.
