Samsung TVs are some of the most popular TVs in the world. Their quality and stable operation distinguish them. Samsung TVs are among the highest-quality consumer TVs in many parts of the world. Not surprisingly, Samsung TV can change your menu language and software.

However, some users encounter problems when doing so. This is mainly because different models of Samsung TVs may have other software, menus, and finding different settings. Let’s understand how this works with each major series of Samsung TVs.

How to change the Language on Samsung TVs of different model years

Let’s start by figuring out why you need to change the Language on the TV. It’s pretty simple – to make it more convenient. Of course, TV is not a computer or a smartphone, but you still have to interact with the menu on your TV, and it will be much more convenient if the TV works in your Language. In addition, some applications you will install will use the system language of your TV.

Let’s figure out how to do this on different TVs. The fact is that over time, Samsung has produced a lot of other TV models and often changed their software. So you can conditionally divide all Samsung TVs into several large series released in different years and with additional software. If any of the ways below will not work for you, try the next one, it will most likely work on your TV.

Samsung TV 2017 models and above (M, MU, N, NU, LS, Q, and RU range)

This is probably your case if you bought a new Samsung TV in the past few years. Today’s TVs have the new Smart TV system for Samsung TVs. In it, you can change the Language in any region with these steps:

  • On your remote, press Home.
  • After that, click on Settings.
  • Select General.
  • Next, find and select System Manager.
  • Click on Language.
  • A list of available languages will open in front of you. Select the Language you want.

After this, your TV can reboot, and the whole system and supported applications will rebuild to your new Language. Please note that this should not affect the region of your TV or the time.

Samsung TV 2016 models (K range)

If you have an older TV, it may also have many different Smart Functions. In 2015, Samsung started developing a Smart TV, and their systeSystemed very differently. To change the Language on this TV, you need the following:

  • Press Settings on your remote.
  • Then select System from the drop-down menu.
  • Click on Expert Settings.
  • Then select Language at the top of the list.
  • From the drop-down menu, select the desired Language.

Done, note that the TV should not reboot in this case. Among the disadvantages of changing the Language on older Samsung TVs, I can mention that the fonts for all except English look a little worse (for my taste).

Samsung TV 2015 models (L and J range)

In case you have a Samsung manufactured in late 2014 or 2015, in those years, Samsung mainly produced regular TVs, but they have redesigned compared to previous years. To change the language on these devices, you need the following:

  • Press the Menu button on the remote.
  • Select System.
  • Then press the Language Menu.
  • From the drop-down menu, select the desired language.

Note that these steps are very similar to future years, but there is a difference in the remote control. The thing is that the 2015 models don’t have a Settings button. Instead, you can find the Menu button.

Samsung TV 2014 models and below (H and HU range)

If you have an older model of Samsung TV produced in 2014 or earlier, their menu has not changed much. The steps will be the same as in the list above. The difference is in the design of the internal menu of Samsung TV. To do this, you’ll need the following:

  • On the remote, press Menu.
  • Select System.
  • Then press Menu Language. Please note: If the language is unfamiliar, this will be the second option if you have an F range (2013) TV.
  • Select the desired language from the drop-down list.

Note that some parts of your TV may still not be translated into other languages. There is nothing you can do about it. Most likely, it is a flaw in your TV operating system.

Is it possible to change languages in apps on your Samsung TV?

Also, note that you can leave the language of your TV unchanged and change the language in some applications. This feature is usually found on the main settings page or in the general section.

Examples of applications where you can change the language include Netflix and YouTube. If you change the language there, it will also affect your recommendation feed and search.

Besides, you can change the language on the keyboard of your Samsung TV with a special button in case you need to enter a word with a different layout than the standard Latin alphabet. I advise you to set the region’s language where you are to avoid possible problems and incompatibility with other software.
