PayPal is the largest debit electronic payment system. If you’re a PayPal user, you can pay your bills and purchases, send and receive money transfers with the help of your account in this system.
PayPal is very easy-to-use and supports interoperability with various other payment platforms. So, if you suddenly need to transfer money to another wallet or account, it won’t be a problem.
Of course, sometimes when you pay for something or transfer money to someone, you can make a mistake. Sometimes customers may indicate either a wrong amount of money, accidentally overpaying, or make a mistake with the addressee.
Luckily for such cases, PayPal has a possibility to cancel payment, at least before you reach some point of payment.
How to find out do you have a chance to cancel payment or not and with which conditions it is possible on PayPal
As mentioned above, there may be several reasons to cancel your payment.
You may have decided that you entered an incorrect amount of money, made a mistake with the recipient of the payment, or concluded that sending money now would be inappropriate. Any of these concerns can be a reason to cancel a payment.
Lucky for you, you can easily cancel some types of PayPal payments. Please note that some PayPal payments cannot be canceled manually, and you may need to contact the payee to request a refund for funds you have sent them without any intention of doing so.
So, before we move on to the method of canceling a payment, you need to be clear about when you can cancel a payment. First, you need to understand that you cannot cancel any payment that the recipient has accepted without contacting the recipient.
That is, in this case, it won’t be a cancellation, but a request for a refund. Also, when you cancel a payment, the following conditions must be met:
- You can cancel payment on PayPal if e-mail address you have sent payment to has no PayPal account.
- You can also do this if the email address you sent the payment to hasn’t been verified.
If the email address exists, you need to cancel the payment before the recipient presents the payment.
In case an email address doesn’t exist, you can also cancel the payment; if you don’t, the money will be refunded to your account within 30 days. Even if the email address doesn’t exist, I would still recommend canceling the payment.
