One of the advantages of modern Samsung Smart TVs is their multitasking capability. Thanks to the fact that they are not just TVs but smart devices with a built-in operating system and many features, you can use them not just as ordinary TVs but also as mini-computers for hacking applications such as browsers, streaming, and even applications for online meetings on some advanced Smart TVs. In addition, Samsung has a series of Frame TVs positioned more as a decoration for your home, such as living pictures on the wall, rather than just TVs.

However, many users encounter problems when they want to customize their frame TV for their needs and want to install their custom pictures instead of the default ones. This is relatively easy to do. To do this, you need to download a smartphone application, which will help you upload a picture on your Samsung Frame TV. However, you need to understand that such pictures have certain restrictions. Besides, you can even include such pictures in Art Mode so that they are shown as part of a slide show on your Samsung Frame TV.

What are the requirements for the photo you want to upload to Samsung Frame TV?

First, let’s discuss the requirements for a picture to be uploaded to the Samsung Frame TV. If you are sure that your picture meets the parameters and you do not need additional information about it, you can skip to the next section of this article to find detailed steps on downloading the picture to Samsung Frame TV.

The picture requirements are not very critical. It would be best if you observed specific image sizes. Your image must be exactly 3840 x 2160 pixels so you can upload it to Samsung Frame TV. If the image is larger or smaller, Samsung TV may refuse to load it. You can resize your image in a photo editor or on this website.

You should also pay attention to the quality of the image itself. Since your TV is probably quite large and has a 4K extension, you’ll need an image that shows the fine details and is detailed enough to look good on Samsung Frame TV. In addition, do not forget that the picture will be part of the interior of your home. So you should be careful when choosing a picture to put on your Frame TV.

How to upload a photo to Samsung Frame TV

Let’s now understand how you can add photos and pictures to your Samsung Frame TV. There are two ways to do this. You can add pictures using the SmartThing App or using USB sticks. In addition, it is also possible to display photos with a third-party device using an HDMI connection. To do this, you need the following:

Add photos with the SmartThing App

You will need to connect your Samsung Frame TV and smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network for this method. After that, you’ll need to:

  • Open the SmartThing App on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Select Art Mode.
  • Then tap on Add Your Photos.
  • Here in the list, select the photos or art you want that are sized for the Frame TV.
  • Tap the Save on The Frame button.
  • Then you will see a menu where you can add decorative elements to your photos—for example, a frame or a filter.
  • When you are done, click on Set.

Done, then these pictures will appear on your Samsung Frame TV while you turn on Art Mode. Also, note that the instructions will not differ regardless of the platform you download the application. On Android or iOS, SmartThing App looks the same.

Adding photos via USB drive

You can also download your photos to a USB drive. Just plug it into a free USB slot on your Samsung Frame TV. Then you can select them in Art Mode, or you can select the source of your USB drive to include the desired photo directly from it.

Viewing Photos Using Third-Party Devices

The last method is a bit of a gimmick, but you can upload your photos to any third-party device, such as a game console or laptop. Then connect your device to your Samsung Frame TV using the HDMI port and select the appropriate input source. Of course, this is not as convenient as using Art Mode, but it works just as well.
