This year Apple introduced a new M2 processor. It was introduced in the MacBook Air 2022. At today’s presentation, Apple released another device with this processor. Apple unveiled the new iPad Pro with the M2 processor. This is the 6th generation of the iPad Pro.

The main innovation in the new iPad Pro (which, as usual, comes in two sizes) is that they are now built on a more powerful M2. According to the company, the processor performance has increased by 15% compared to the M1, on which the previous model was running, and a 35% increase in graphics performance thanks to the new 10-core GPU. Only recently, the company significantly increased power with the M1 in the iPad Air, and now they’ve made the Pro line even more powerful.

In addition to the updated processor, the new iPad has several other innovations. Among them is support for Wi-Fi 6E, which allows you to go online and download files much faster than before. The same model equipped with a cell phone will have 5G support. The company also improved support for Apple Pencil’s second generation; now, the tablet recognizes it at a distance of up to 12 mm above the display.

In all other respects, this iPad is almost the same as the previous generation. The exterior design and the possible colors of the new iPad remain unchanged. Among the improvements, we can also mention the unique and thoroughly improved Magic Keyboard Folio with the ability to detach the keyboard. It looks like Apple just took the previous model and swapped out the innards – a strategy the company previously employed with the 13-inch MacBook Pro equipped with the M2.

The new iPad in the minimum package without 5G will cost you $800. If you need 5G, prices start at $1,000. Sales will start on October 26. This is Apple’s cheapest M2 device, as the MacBook Air starts at $1,200. So the iPad is a bargain for your money. Of course, if it suits the tasks, you need from a mobile device.
